When I Grow Up's New Home!

Hello everybody!  Just a quick update - I have made the first step in moving towards the next step of this little experiment of mine.

I am moving away from the past blog type site, and have published a more regular type website.  If you would like to continue reading what I have published, and what is to be published, you will be able to find all future posts at:

See you there!

Update

So there's been a long period of inactivity. I apologize for that. Part of it was that I wasn't very happy with... Well just damn near everything. From the look of the strip and the characters, to sloppy blogger site.

Another, bigger part was that I also took 5 months out of this year to do a marathon. While training for 26.2 miles, AND having 3 small children, there's just not a whole lot of time for anything else.

Marathon has been finished for about a month now, in which I've been spending all my free time in movies and video games. But now it's time to get back down to it. In the upcoming weeks, I'll be doing re-designs on everything, and may even move away from the blogger setup I have now.

Stay tuned!

Don't Say It Out Loud!

So, by now those few people who visit my little blog here have noticed....It's been a bit bare lately...Not a whole lot going on....And that is mostly due to....Too MUCH going on at home.  And I've learned the hard way, that if you REALLY want to do something, and you have plans for something, and everything leading up to those plans have gone easily and smoothly....It's too good to be true...Something is going to wreck those plans...ESPECIALLY if you actually say anything about said plans out loud...The universe will hear you, and it will answer in kind.

I've mentioned many times before my penchant for PC gaming.  As it stands, with the exception of finishing this post, I haven't so much as removed my laptop from its bag in like 3 weeks. And every day for the last 3 weeks, I've announced to the universe my plans for gaming...And every time, the universe smacks me in the face, and tells me to go spend time with my children....Who won't go to and/or stay in bed....

Ummm...It's been since BEFORE CHRISTMAS.....

I've had a few reminders of how long it's been since my last strip by a few people. After more or less abandoning this little project, feeling it was poorly written, and even more poorly drawn, I've had requests to start making and putting out more strips again.

So, I've (literally) gone back to the drawing board again, and hope to have new stuff out in a couple of weeks. Let's face it; my wife and I still have a 3 year old, and twin (now) 7 month olds!

Those Daggers Cut Their Socks Off!

Have you ever tried to put a sock on a baby?  Sure, that sounds easy...How long have you ever had said sock STAY on?  And have you ever been sliced by a baby fingernail?

These are things that are part of people who can't do much for themselves...How in the world do they CONSTANTLY find a way to kick something as simple as a sock off? Seriously...I'm starting to think maybe I'm backing the wrong pony trying this comic strip thing...Maybe I should be finding a way to keep baby socks from falling off.

And back to baby fingernails?  If you're not careful with some babies (one of our twins in particular), you end up with an infant who looks like they've slid their face down a cheese grater. I've had paper cuts that were more difficult to acquire...AND less painful....

The Smiles Remain

Raising children is hard.  Raising multiple children is harder.  Raising multiple children that includes multiple babies is one of the hardest things ever.  But at the same time, it's also probably one of the most rewarding.

For every night of lost sleep, for every minute of lost sanity, there's a smile or a moment you'll have together that you'll never want to forget.

Sure, there's frustration and chaos, but even in your most sleep deprived state, even though you can't see it, you're still happy you're where you are.

Night & Day, Day & Night

I've commented on this on more than one occasion.  But have you ever noticed the difference in infants from the middle of the night, versus the middle of the afternoon.

Honestly, there's absolutely no difference whatsoever in them.  Unless of course you've been one of the luck ones whose infants have decided to get nights and days backwards.  THEN there's a slight difference.  But usually, the biggest difference is how much (or how little) sleep you've actually had.

But that's the difference that turns them from dastardly villains, or gremlins at 2 A.M. to the beautiful little angels at 2 P.M.

And sometimes, it's quite a big difference.
